I know it's been covered, but the questions still lingering in my head are 1) What format is the best way to send drafts/pitches/etc to an editor, 2) When sending a pitch, do I need basic pencillings, even if I'm only showing my writing and 3) Does one need previous writing experience and credentials for my work to be considered?
1) Published work only. Marvel does not accept unsolicited submissions of any kind, and we will discard such pitches unread.
2) You don’t get to send in an actual pitch until and unless you are invited to do so by a Marvel editor. At that point, your penciling will be irrelevant if you are trying to find work as a writer.
3) Yes, absolutely. You need previously published work in order to attract the attention of a Marvel editor and convince them that you’ve got a skill set worth pursuing.
